All three work. ChatGPT 4 gives the most nuanced band feedback. Claude is more forgiving and detailed on writing pointers. DeepSeek works well inside China without VPN. Pick whichever you already have — the prompt is designed to work identically across all of them.
How is this different from just asking ChatGPT to be an IELTS examiner?
A generic “act like an IELTS examiner” prompt gives you generic feedback — usually inflated and unreliable. This prompt is 200 lines: it forces the AI to score against the four official band descriptors (Fluency & Coherence, Lexical Resource, Grammatical Range, Pronunciation), track your patterns across a session, and deploy the Smooth English Pressure-To-Fluency drills instead of just chatting. Will this alone get me to Band 7?
Honestly? For most students, no. The prompt is a killer daily drill — but daily drills alone won't fix the underlying patterns holding your score at 5.5 or 6.
